After the trend-setting steps towards more lived sustainability, which were initiated among other things with the installation of the PV, the acquisition of the hybrid vehicle or the introduction of the paperless office, now the first successes of the further taken measures showed up.
Trees planted
No less than four fruit trees have found their new home in SGB's outdoor facilities. These include two apple trees, one plum tree and one mirabelle tree. Planted in late fall of last year, the joy was great in spring when the native woody plants blossomed. Even if the first harvest is likely to be rather small and fine, the anticipation is already enormous.
e-car inaugurated
The electricity generated on the roof can now go straight into the new company car: The new e-car has replaced the hybrid vehicle and has since been on the road for SGB with zero emissions and low noise. It is charged at the company's own charging station. A concept is currently being developed that will allow employees, customers, suppliers and other visitors to use the station in the future.
Habitat for insects
Bees, beetles and the like are happy to have a new roof over their heads. The SGB insect hotel comes from the AWO Siegen workshops and offers plenty of space for the little crawlers. The first "apartments" have already been occupied.
